Websites for cafés

Websites for cafés and coffee shops

People usually check a café's website on a phone, often while they're already out. They want today's hours, the menu, and how to get there, in seconds. A café website should feel like the café and get out of the way.

What a café website should do

  • Show today's hours on the home page, plus holiday changes, so nobody arrives to a locked door.
  • Keep the menu readable on a phone as real text, not a hard-to-zoom photo, with dietary notes where you have them.
  • Make visiting easy with the address, a map, parking or transit notes, and accessibility information.
  • Tell your story on a short "Our story" page about who runs the café and what makes it yours.
  • Collect bigger orders with a simple catering or event enquiry form, if you offer it.
  • Link to your social accounts for daily specials, so the website doesn't need updating every day.

See a concept

Maple & Crumb Café is a concept project: a demonstration design for a fictional café, not client work.

For a one-off event like a tasting or workshop, a single landing page can work well. See the Clayhouse Pottery workshop sign-up concept.

How Layout Loft builds it

I use AI tools to help plan, design, and build, and I personally check the layout on phones, tablets, and desktops, test the links and forms, and review the wording before launch. You review a draft and request changes before anything goes live.

Layout Loft focuses on businesses in Ontario. You don't need to be nearby; it all happens by email and phone. See the six-step process.

Websites start at $500 CAD. The final price depends on the pages and features you need, and it's agreed in writing before any building starts.

Layout Loft builds the website; online ordering or delivery can be linked from an outside service you already use.
